On June 4, 2004, it was announced that Creed had broken up. Its success was propelled by the hit singles My Sacrifice and One Last Breath. It debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and stayed there for 8 weeks, a record Creed shares with The Beatles. Their third, and final, album, Weathered, came in 2001. Human Clay remains their most successful album at 11-times platinum.

The album was a massive success, thanks first to the smash hit single Higher, (which holds the record as the longest Number 1 single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts at 18 weeks), and, later, with the hit With Arms Wide Open. Their mainstream success came a few years later, throughout 19 with their second album, Human Clay. My Own Prison is, as of now, 6-times platinum. After making it more radio friendly, the album was re-released by Wind-Up across the country and became a surprise success, reaching the Top 40 of the Billboard 200. After hearing them play live, Diana Meltzer of Wind-Up Records decided to sign the band to her label.

They first rose to prominence in 1994 with their debut album, My Own Prison. During their time as a band they recorded three studio albums: My Own Prison, Human Clay, and Weathered. There is more than one artist with this name:ġ) Creed was an American post-grunge band, out of Tallahassee, Florida, that became commercially quite successful.
